why do chef’s wear checker pants to hide stains (or atleast i think that’s why) but then wear white coats?

the white coat looks cleaner than a darker one. you wouldn’t want a dirty chef cooking your food. its better to see him wearing a white one with just a few small stains than a black one that can be hiding a lot of stains.
